Byron Wilkes, MD

Board Certified Oculofacial Plastic Surgeon

Why I wanted to get into eye care

I was first exposed to Oculofacial Plastic Surgery during my medical school Ophthalmology rotations.  I knew early on that I wanted to pursue this unique field due to the variety of conditions treated and range of patients that I can see.

My philosophy

I approach my patients and their various problems with a minimalistic approach.  My patients generally know what they need before I walk into the room. My job is to listen and help them understand what options I can provide to help them accomplish their goals.

What I love about practicing at McFarland’s

It has always been and will continue to be the people that make this practice special.  When you enjoy what you do and who you work with it doesn’t even feel like work.

Favorite part of my job

Hands down, the best part of my job is taking care of patients and helping them accomplish their goals of both functional and cosmetic improvement.

Something I would like my patients to know about me

I am laser focused on providing the highest level of care possible. I also think it’s important to “not sweat the small stuff” and be able to adjust when things don’t go exactly the way we want them too.
